“What is my voice going to sound like? How am I going to look?” freshman Mackenzie Lundy nervously questioned before the premiere of New Vista School’s third annual film festival.
“It’s scary, but it makes me feel like I’m part of something big, even though I don’t go to a normal public school” she continued. Every February, New Vista School, a private institution that serves students who are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and language learning disabilities, gives its students the red carpet treatment when they premiere their work at Starlight Triangle Square Cinemas in Costa Mesa.
