Posted: October 24, 2008 by Mr. Bowen in United States History

Subject: Chapter #9 The Nation’s New Constitution

Next Test: Unit Test #2 will be given on Thursday, October 30th, and will cover key material from chapter #6 through chapter #9.  Students should be able to identify and define the People, Places, and New Vocabulary terms from the Unit 2 chapters.

Study Hints:  Students can review by answering the questions at the back of each chapter.  Students can also quiz themselves by seeing how well they know the People, Places, and New Vocabulary terms from the Unit 2 chapters (these terms can be founded at the beginning of each chapter).  In addition, the teacher will review the unit with the students each day in class.

Permission Slips:  Students from U.S. History were given permission slips last Thursday to take home and get signed.  Soon students will watch portions of the movie National Treasure in class (in addition to the unit test review) and discuss the landmarks, memorials, and symbols contained therein.  Students without permission slips will be given alternate assignments.

Girls’ Club News

Posted: October 23, 2008 by Mrs. Kugelberg in Girls' Club

It has been exciting to watch Girls’ Club blossom in to something beautiful. The girls have made some great memories and have created deeper friendships. Two weeks ago the girls went on a field trip to the Irvine Spectrum. There they enjoyed laughing, eating frozen yogurt, riding the carousel, and of course shopping. Last week Ms. Glass talked to the girls about menstruation, and this week the girls had fun carving  pumpkins. In November, the girls will be going  to see High School Musical 3, learning about haircare and make up, and participating in a community service project.
